Two arrested after boy killed and two hurt in crash
Incident in Bedfordshire
Two individuals in their early 20s were taken into custody following a collision that resulted in the death of one boy and left two others with critical injuries. The crash occurred on Greenfield Road in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, at 11:50 PM BST on Friday. A vehicle collided with three teenagers, two of whom were cycling and one riding a scooter.
Emergency services arrived at the scene to find one of the boys already deceased. The other two were rushed to a hospital with severe injuries. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before a blue BMW, showing clear signs of impact damage, was discovered on a nearby street, police confirmed.
Investigation underway
Det Sgt Shona Searle, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit, stated:
“First and foremost our thoughts are with the family of the boy who has lost his life in this incident, as well as the families of the two other boys who were injured.”
Investigators are pursuing multiple leads to uncover the circumstances of the crash and request public assistance.
