Murder arrest over Primrose Hill stabbing
A 27-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of murder after Finbar Sullivan, a 21-year-old filmmaking student, was fatally stabbed in the Primrose Hill area. The incident occurred on Tuesday when police responded to reports of a confrontation at the famed North London location. Sullivan was discovered with severe injuries at the scene and later pronounced dead.
Officers arrived at the area shortly after 18:30 BST, where they also found a second man in his 20s with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital with injuries deemed not critical. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 25-year-old man was arrested for aiding the suspect, alongside the 27-year-old. Both were held on Friday and remain in custody.
“My thoughts remain with Finbar’s family, who are currently supported by specialist officers during this incredibly challenging period,” said Det Insp Andy Griffin. “Although we’ve made two arrests, our team is still working tirelessly to identify all individuals involved.” He expressed gratitude to the public for providing information and encouraged anyone with footage or details from the location on the day of the attack to contact authorities.
Griffin also noted that increased police patrols will be visible in Primrose Hill and surrounding neighborhoods as investigations continue. The Met Police have not yet disclosed further details about the suspects or the circumstances of the stabbing.
