British Airways stopping flights to war torn Middle East country until later this year
British Airways Halting Flights to Middle East Amid Conflict
British Airways has suspended operations to multiple regions in the Middle East as tensions rise following the Iran conflict. The airline announced that all flights to and from Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, and Tel Aviv will be paused this month.
A statement released today highlighted the decision, citing ongoing instability in the region and risks to airspace as key factors. The airline also noted that daily rescue missions from Muscat will be suspended after Thursday due to lower passenger demand.
“We are monitoring the situation closely and maintaining communication with customers who remain in the United Arab Emirates to provide travel alternatives to the UK.”
Customers were urged to verify updates through official British Airways sources after reports of fraudulent accounts impersonating the airline on social media platforms. A user shared evidence of scam interactions, including a fake Qatar Airways representative arranging a non-existent rescue flight.
The Middle East’s airspace closures, triggered by the US and Israel’s military strike on Iran, have led to widespread flight disruptions. Major carriers have either canceled thousands of journeys or redirected routes to avoid affected zones. These airports serve as critical transit points for global travelers, handling massive international traffic daily.
Scams and Security Alerts
British Airways warned travelers about phishing attempts targeting personal and financial information. Scammers have been using deceptive links and false customer service profiles to trick passengers into sharing details.
