Former Channel 5 News co-host Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije has initiated a legal proceeding against Dan Walker, alleging workplace bullying. The case, which involves ITN and Paramount as respondents, is set to be heard in an employment tribunal. Vanderpuije’s legal representative confirmed that the claim includes accusations of sexism and misogyny, as reported by *The Mail on Sunday*.
ITN has stated that the allegations are “denied in full,” with a spokesperson adding, “
This claim, which is denied in full, will be addressed through the tribunal process.
” The media outlet cited a source indicating Walker denies the accusations and has amassed over 50 character witness statements to support his defense.
According to Vanderpuije’s lawyer, Jonathan Coad, the trial will commence in London on 20 April and is scheduled to last five weeks. Walker, who previously co-hosted on BBC Breakfast and appeared on *Strictly Come Dancing*, joined Vanderpuije at Channel 5 News in 2022. She departed the network in 2024. ITN’s CEO, Rachel Corp, is also listed as a respondent in the claim.
Earlier investigations into the allegations against Walker did not result in any findings of misconduct. The case now moves forward as the tribunal process begins, with both parties preparing for the upcoming hearings.
