Your Guide to the UK’s Music Festival Season for Summer 2026

With the UK basking in pleasant weather this week, the summer festival season is already taking shape. While Glastonbury takes a break this year, festival enthusiasts will find a wealth of alternatives to keep them entertained. From iconic returns to fresh additions, the lineup promises something for every music fan.

Major events like Reading and Leeds Festival are back, running from 27 to 30 August. The British and Irish headliners include Charli XCX, Chase & Status, Dave, Florence + The Machine, Fontaines D.C., and Raye, while Leeds hosts a Thursday night exclusive with Kasabian. For those seeking a more relaxed vibe, TRNSMT in Glasgow offers a three-day experience from 19 to 21 June, featuring CMAT, Wolf Alice, and Two Door Cinema Club.

Coastal fans can look forward to Boardmasters in Cornwall, where Fatboy Slim, Lily Allen, and The Kooks perform from 5 to 9 August. If you prefer a single day of music without the camping, BST Hyde Park in London will stage its event in late June and early July, with headliners such as Maroon 5, Mumford & Sons, and Garth Brooks.

New festivals are making waves this year. Roundhay, based in Leeds, debuts in July with Pitbull and Lewis Capaldi leading the charge. Meanwhile, Silverworks Island in East London has become a hotspot for dance music, hosting Pendulum, Fisher, and Tiesto from June to July. Lovebox returns after a seven-year absence, moving to Margate, Kent, for a May showcase featuring Rudimental, Armand Van Helden, and Groove Armada.

For rock and alternative lovers, Download Festival in the East Midlands will feature Limp Bizkit, Guns N’ Roses, and Linkin Park from 12 to 14 June. Indie fans can explore Kendal Calling in the Lake District, with Biffy Clyro, Wolf Alice, and The Libertines headlining between 30 July and 2 August. Truck Festival, returning to Oxfordshire, will include The Maccabees, The Wombats, and Kaiser Chiefs from 23 to 26 July.

Dance music continues to dominate the calendar. Creamfields in Cheshire will welcome Swedish House Mafia, Martin Garrix, and Armin van Buuren from 27 to 30 August. Parklife in Manchester, held on 20 and 21 June, promises performances from Calvin Harris, Skepta, and Sammy Virji. Boomtown, set in Hampshire, brings Skrillex, Four Tet, and Faithless for 12 to 16 August.

There’s no shortage of options for festival-goers. Whether you crave a full weekend of camping or a single day of curated sets, the summer of 2026 has something to suit every musical preference. With diverse genres and innovative locations, the season is as vibrant as ever.
